Training Programs

Education Advocacy: This is a FREE training opportunity. to provide this 2-hour workshop which introduces foster parents, parents, and staff members to the process of becoming an Educational Advocate.

Collaborative Problem Solving: This is a course based on the book “The Explosive Child” by Dr. Green. This class will give you new strategies and techniques for dealing with your child and frequent meltdowns.

IEP S.M.A.R.T. Workshop: This one-day training is designed to inform parents of the Individualized Education Plan process (IEPs). We cover the process from requesting an evaluation, the timelines involved, the IEP meeting, writing S.M.A.R.T. goals, follow up, and record keeping as well.

Parenting Skills: A one or two-day training that covers the “Big Three” of parenting skill sets 1-2-3 Magic, the Explosive Child, and Love and Logic. This training provides an overview of all three parenting styles, and parents can then decide which would work best in their home.

Juvenile Crisis Intervention Training (JCIT): This specialized training is provided to law enforcement personnel, and first responders. The goal is simple, to educate these folks on interacting with agitated children, with a variety of different behaviors, or mental health concerns. How we de-escalate a child with ADHD is completely different than de-escalating a child dealing with Asperger’s or autism.

De-escalation Skills: This is a one-day training for parents or providers providing valuable skills in not only deescalating a child that may be out of control but ways to prevent future escalations.

 Legislative Advocacy training. This training provides an overview on how our State   government works and how to best advocate for change and improvements

Anti-bulling Training: The U.S. has an ever increasing problem with bullying, and it is getting worse. We will go in-depth on some of the causes and how you can stop it.

Leadership Training: This 2-day training prepares parents and care givers with necessary skills to Advocate and become part of the system in many capacities

Love and Logic:  This training was introduced 30 years ago and is taught in many schools. It is a philosophy of raising and teaching children which allows adults to be happier, empowered, and more skilled in the interactions with children. Love allows children to grow through their mistakes.
